Week 1 Assignment:  Create a "Circle Map" of Where you've been in your life, create a "Double Bubble Map" that compares where you've been with a classmate, create a "Circle Map" of info of the Lost Boys of Sudan video, then create a "Flow Map" of the story of the Lost Boys.

Week 2 Assignment: Origins of Hinduism & Hinduism/Buddhism chart (use the class textbook found in menu at the top)

Week Two Assignment: A.C.E. Strategy Question #1- Examine how the Untouchables are treated in Hindu society today

Read the two article that were passed out in class and answer the question above on a separate paper using the A.C.E. method  (A= answer the question in a complete sentence, C= cite specific examples from the articles, E= expand on your answer with something else you learned about this topic in class, or your personal opinion about what you read)

Week Four Assignment:  A.C.E. Strategy Question #2

Students used the article found in the document below to answer ONE of the two questions asked in the beginning of the article.  Students need to follow the ACE method and write their response in paragraph form.  A = Answer the questions, C = cite examples from the article, E = expand on your answer with something else not in the article that can be considered relevant to your answer.

 Week Five: Video Clip Paragraph Summary-  Using the notebook activity "This is Sparta" video questions, write a paragraph summary of what you learned about Sparta.  Be sure to cite TWO specific examples from the video clip in your response.

Week Six:  A.C.E. Questions #3  Use the video clip below (watch from 27:00 to the end) to complete this assignment

A= How did the Parthenon come to symbolize the city-state of Athens

C = cite SPECIFIC details from the video clip to back up your answer

E = expand on you answer by writing about something that can be connected to the topic that wasn't in the video clip (it can be from something you read in the textbook, heard in class, or learned on your own)

 Week Six: Use the textbook or the link below to complete the Reading Guide "Alexander the Great".  Answer on you own paper.
If you need a textbook, click on the Class Textbook tab in the menu at the top of the page.  Click on the link and then use Chapter 5 Sections 4 & 5 to complete this assignment.

Week Eight:  Use the textbook to complete the handouts "The Roman Republic"that were passed out in class .  Be sure to cite the page number next to the information you write down on the handout. A= According to author, Cullen Murphy, are we Rome?

C = Give at least 10 SPECIFIC examples in the article that back up his answer.

E = Expand on your answer by EXPLAINING if you think America could ever "Fall" like Rome did?

Thursday, November 10, 2011:  Use the textbook to complete the Reading Guide: Rise of Christianity.  Answer on your own paper.  This assignment is due on Friday, November 12. 

Friday, November 18, 2011:  Use the textbook to complete the Reading Guide: Rise of Islam.  Answer on your own paper and in complete sentences. 

Friday, November 22, 2009:  Use the textbook to complete the Reading Guide: The Middle Ages.  Answer on your own paper and in complete sentences.  This assignment is due on Wednesday, November 25, 2009.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009:  Use the textbook to complete the Thinking Maps "The Church during the Middle Ages" on your own paper. This assignment is due on Thursday, December 3, 2009.

Monday - Tuesday, November 30 - December 1, 2009:  In class assignment "End of the Middle Ages / Start of Modern Times".  This assignment was due before the end of the class period. 

Friday, December 4, 2009:  In class reading on the Age of Discovery.  Students answered the 4 short answer questions that went along with it.
